THE PROBLEM

Growing concerns about hospital infections and the growth of bacteria resistant to drugs, the clothing of doctors, nurses and other health professionals - worn both inside and outside the hospital - focuses more attention and arousing concern.

In 2008 The New York Times published article about the study taken in 2004 by New York Hospital Medical Centre of Queens. Scientists have compared the ties of 40 doctors and medical students with those of 10 security guards. It found that about half the ties worn by medical personnel were a reservoir for germs, compared with just 1 in 10 of the ties worn by security staff.

In another study in Connecticut, hospital sought to assess what role is played by clothing in the spread of MRSA. Studies have shown, that if the doctor entered the room where the patient had MRSA, the probability that bacteria will get on the doctor clothes is 70 percent, even if a person has never touched a patient. “… We know it can live for long periods of time on fabrics.” said Marcia Patrick, an infection control expert in Tacoma, Wash., and co-author of the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology guidelines for eliminating MRSA in hospitals.

To give you better idea how safe our products are we compare two products in the table Natural Sunscreen and Magic IQ Coat+. We want to emphasize that our product is notable for high adherence and low concentration of active substance (nano particles) in the product, only 0.5% rest is water.

To make it even clearer when it comes to number of particles absorbed by body we can say that two hours exposure to “Natural Sunscreen” is equivalent to 15 years of exposure to “Magic IQ Coat+”. Above materials as we mention before are building blocks of our products, all of them are occurring naturally in the environment, commonly known as safe and used for ages.

Because Nanotechnology is a new technology, not yet explored, particularly the impact of nano particles on human organism, Nanomagic has developed HSE strategies, which takes care of these aspects. At the moment wide range of nano materials is available on the market, whether all are harmless, of course not. An example can be fluorine. Fluorine in nano scale is relatively cheap and has many unique properties such as resistance to high temperatures, anti-bacterial, superhydrophobic, anti-static, and many others. That is why it is very often used in functional coatings products. The liquid structure basis coatings are fluorinated surfactants that arefluoro-polymers with no analogs in nature and synthesized artificially. These coatings, previously developed primarily for military purposes, are now very common in household environment, for example cookware or new generation super hydrophobic coatings for mostly any surface around home including cloths – the world leader DuPont™ and his famous Teflon® coating is based on fluoro-polymers.

We know the great properties of nano fluorine, and we know as well the great health danger carried with it.
